After School Alliance
Afterschool programs keep kids safe, inspire them to learn, and give working parents peace of mind. They help children learn, grow, and reach their full potential, offering new learning opportunities that help students do better in school and in life. Children in afterschool programs attend school more often, get better grades, and are more likely to graduate. They are less likely to use drugs or alcohol.
But too many children are missing out. For every child in a program, three are waiting to get in. Nationwide, 7.7 million children are on their own between 3 and 6 p.m. The Afterschool Alliance is working to ensure that all children, regardless of income or geographic area, have access to quality afterschool programs. Our efforts are aimed at securing resources to expand programming and help programs be the best they can be. We focus foremost on underserved and disadvantaged children and communities.
Excelencia in Education
The story of Excelencia in Education is one of intentionality and positive change. For 18 years, we have partnered with other trendsetting leaders across the country to accelerate Latino student success. We are now at a critical moment in history. Supporting and serving Latino students is crucial as a key to ensuring America’s future over the next decade. Cultivating Confianza: Excelencia in Education’s Trust-Based Approach to Latino Student Success frames how we can all work together to be more student-centered and achieve equity with a Latino lens.
Camphill Soltane
Camphill Soltane provides opportunities for education, healing, relationship building, and meaningful work for people with intellectual differences.
Camphill Soltane was named from the Parzival legend. In the story, a young man named Parzival grows up in an idyllic clearing in the woods wherein his strength could be nurtured until he was ready to leave his home and fulfill his destiny in the world. The name of that clearing was Soltane.
